Sin Architects have been involved with a submission for the Auckland Waterfront Queen Wharf competition. Our design made use of flexible tent-like structure shown above that can be used to reflect lights and for video live presentation of the Rugby World Cup matches on its screen. We had aligned a pedestrian over-bridge above the party centre celebration area as a wet weather shelter and for a elevated view of Waitemata Harbour looking towards the harbour bridge. This also includes the design of new cruise ship passenger facilities and an exhibition centre.
We have also been involved with a design for a new Waka Ama Boat Club at the Manukau Harbour in Auckland, involving the design of a community centre, a Pacific Island performing stage, a Waka Ama storage facility, a jetty, and a tennis and rugby field in negotiation with the previous Manukau City Council now Auckland Council.
Sin architects has also been involved with master planning work of the Meremere township including planning housing developments and reuse of the industrial zone. We are also involved with master planning of large tracts of land oversea to develop that into a major tourist centre.
Other civic projects involved the consulting advice and designs for pensioner villages and council facilities and child care centre. We are currently involved with a local Council in helping to restructure underground services and realigning large underground services pipes on a site. The design and the use of PKS fusion welding of the 600 diameter pipes are a fairly new technology. The construction of this in now underway.
